Chrome Webstore Apps: Adding on Student Chromebooks
Location: https://chromewebstore.google.com/
The purpose of this walkthrough is to show Students how to use Chrome Webstore to install pre-approved Apps directly.
Step 1.
Go to the Chrome Webstore (https://chromewebstore.google.com/)
Step 2.
Select Clear Creek Apps in the upper right corner of the screen
Step 3.
Search or scroll down for the app you want to add to Chrome, in this example Read&Write for Google Chrome is selected. Click the Add to Chrome button on the right side
Step 4.
Once installed, you can find your extensions to the right of the URL/Web Address bar at the top of your screen (where you type website names), or look at the Extensions list with the puzzle piece to the right of the URL bar (

- Unpinned Apps show a clear icon indicator:
- Pinned Apps show a blue icon indicator:
*Note: The indication is what is now showing to the right of the URL bar by default moving forward
To see a full list of extensions: Go to chrome://extensions to see all extensions on a single page to turn them on or off, or remove them.
Please note: Apps overseen by the Tech Dept. can not be removed. Some Apps may not update once abandoned by their development teams and will be removed per Google’s security policies.
