Three 1:1 device candidates were chosen following a one month pilot program at the Middle School. During this pilot program, the Creek Squad helped to compare nine devices. The Creek Squad members and several teachers, logged their input via an online form and met with the Technology Department at least once per week to go over that feedback in greater depth. The Acer C738T was chosen based on reviews from other schools, technical specifications, and input from the pilot program.
The Acer C738T Touch Screen was selected as the model best suited to the needs of a 1:1 program at CCAMS. This model offers the most up-to-date processor available in a chromebook, 4GB of system memory, good battery life, and a small form factor suitable for use on school desks.
The chosen case, the Brenthaven Tred Case w/Pouch and Strap, offers excellent device protection due to its semi-rigid construction and device padding. It also affords some additional features which include a shoulder strap, handle, and a card slot for device identification.
